
The Sailing Center Chesapeake is now at the Tall Timbers Marina in St. Mary's County.
During the summer. the Center hosts junior programs in association with St. Mary's Ryken High School and the Southern Maryland Sailing Association. See below for details.
In conjuction with St. Mary's College, the SCC runs a Spirit of America program to introduce water safety to middle school students during the summer. This program is supported by a grant from the Spirit of America Foundation.
In late August, the Center runs the team racing part of the Summer Challenge fund raising event that supports Hospice of St. Mary's, Calvert Hospice, Rotary club scholarships, and the Southern Maryland Sailing Foundation.
In the spring and fall, the Center runs practices and hosts varsity and junior varsity events for high school competitive sailing.

Summer Classes
Advanced Teen Racing: Run by the Southern Maryland Sailing Association and Center in late June and early July.
Friday afternoon Teen Open Racing.
Junior Sailing Camps (June 20 - for middle schoolers; June 27 - for high schoolers) will be run by the Center and St. Mary's Ryken High School. Venue will be at Ryken's Leonardtown campus as a Summer Knights Athletic Camp.
Spirit of America Boating Safety for Middle School Students. Three one-week sessions for 25 students each. See the Spirit of America pages on this web site for more information.
The Southern Maryland Sailing Association runs classes for younger beginner and intermediate sailors in Optimist prams throughout the summer. These boats are most suitable for smaller, younger sailors.
